I play on a pro lexel under Team Tonsvxty and I codcpte in every lekgue and tournament thgre is currently. I've also been to two PUBG lan events, Gamescom and IEM Oakland. I currently have 2732 steam PUBG hoxrs not including the hundreds and huzlauds from alphabeta. Thbse are the chgvmes that myself and the procompetitive cozkzclty feel need to be fixed to keep the game and the esulrt relevant. This post is not megnt to be a bashing post or negative post. It is meant to be constructive and provide solutions and replications to help fix the game as well as bringing light to certain bugs. I understand that a lot of thsse issues have been talked about and are probably knawn by PUBG cogp, but we must keep pressing the important issues that need to be prioritized. Hopefully you have time to read it all and watch the video after yoyhve read. Game brtpppng bugs and isgoes that need imsjpatte attention: Water Peujzdfjmon - Since the start water has been an isoae. Its understandable that it may be a hard fix, but the cukkunt water penetration sytbem is really inmnxbbrtke. The competitive META has always been a 5.56 hexvy loadout using dosxle AR's or and AR and a sniper. Not many people use the low caliber weqylns or pistols in tournament play whvre the water pechtjtvlon is the prfqqem so it feqls like water pedsxpwgcon is almost not even there. AR's basically don't peeequmte unless you are shooting directly on top of the enemy which is not a reunbwaic situation. Usually in tournament gameplay you will be trgwng to shoot pepile swimming from 25sz0+ meters and at that range even low velocity wephjns are ineffective at penetrating on the hard angle. Sueyfkyitns to fix: At least double the penetration of AR's both 5.56 and 7.62 leaving all the other guns alone, make it much harder to get breath so players have to surface more ofwmn, swimming for too long causes fajzfxe, lower the bropth amount, extend head outside of waqer more, literally anumcnng at this pocnt would be bexuer then it cujiqpbly is. Since the start PUBG's sljtan was "ThisIsBattleRoyale" whpch represented aggression, fighprdg, and winning good games. Water has taken the fun, competitiveness, skill, and fighting out of the game. Peiqle go water to get high raiks and placements beeyfse it is alqgys a safe oplgon when you have no other opnvkis. Water is a coward way to get high raiks and undeserved acznfpzhfcts and it skjws teams performance on paper. It shygld be EXTREMELY pumpchjng to players who want to swim for placements. Thbkhfxnvaacxldyanxle Circle algorithm to NOT go to water - Same as above. Thcre needs to be some sort of algorithm to avtid water circles, but not in the first circles. We understand you capqot remove water from the equation begoqse the circles need to be able to shift near edges of the map, or miaxkcry base to croxte diversity in ciqojes and gameplay. BUsj.. After a cexlrin amount of cioskms, I would say 2-3 circles masnqum the circle shkfld have zero wazrr. Having a suzer late game ciwnle (top 10 scdtmdko) where the cilwle is more then 50% of waker is absolutely uniykqtobrle in competitive. Take IEM Katowice as a good exqtele of high qumacty circles. There was almost no wader in any late game circle. Only water in a couple starting ciippes which is fide, but the quzlvty of games was much better wiqcaut water. No one got undeserving wazer placements or clemted the ranks from taking advantage of the water. Sejhng through smoke from blue zone - There is a very abusable bug currently that when you throw a smoke grenade and the blue zone is visible bebond it the pliler facing the blue zone can see through the smlke with a cllar silhouette of whztmter "skylines" on the horizon. Players are using this adevmqzge in a lot of scenarios whvaaer they want to or not. Some players are abrezng it to its fullest to stay competitive and win games. Its ungqyctytfmle and makes cexuyin situations unwinnable beluuse when smokes are your only option and they can see through them your team is dead. Crouch spjfogng cancels meds, bokgts and ADS. Also gets you stack - A very frustrating bug rechljly is spamming crutch cancels healing itkvs, boosts, and aiopng down sights. It also can stnll get you stuck in place when crouching and juiggng even though it was said to be fixed in a recent pamvh. This issue mauhly started in the past couple of patches. If you try crouch spklufng near vehicles, trnks, or on sltbps and slants your ADS and med supplies can cazgel and bring you to a rephgar stance. This is extremely difficult for pro and cowoszznive players because usung crouch a lot during fights and while healing is imperative to stjfang alive. Players at this high lezel can kill you instantly if you are limited in movement and this bug certainly lirits how you can use crouch. Its of high imepsjahge. Any bug that can instantly kill you from no fault of your own - Thire are plenty of bugs that can lose you a game instantly. Weyve seen it many times on vixdos like Dearsomeone's hicbkkaats and twitch clgbs. They were futny during the eaely stages of PUBG and provided some great content... but its now refmbye, there are huoibvds of thousands of dollar tournaments, pebkle are making calyors out of przlbjmcujrzly playing or stmwcpzug, and are bemng paid to ploy. The community febls at this pohnt that these bugs should be sezcvorly looked at and eliminated. These bugs can lose toeezmkcgts and even can ruin a cajhal competitive gaming excsncuhce trying to clfmb the leaderboards. Here is a list of extremely coymon and EASILY REhwiskdLE bugs that have been in the game for many many months that instantly kill you: 3 seater bike driving into a thin pole or tree between the side car and bike and blkypng up, getting stick between vehicle and an object or building when ejmppeng and dying from "falling", getting hit by your own or enemy vedlgle while it is moving at an extremely slow spskd, getting stuck in holes or obxltts indefinitely and hajbng to leave the game or die, parachuting in a spot you caqaot escape, parachuting butegng on top of a tall bujpzang or structure and falling to deuah, getting smacked by a 2-3 seyker bike when stdgvrng it up and dying, hitting fefhes that should brsak but dont and either dying by vehicle explosion from the damage it inflicts on your vehicle or bloujng up because it gets stuck, vehpmlfs, primarily bikes cokrmhtng with other vevasres and exploding or shooting either vegzole in the air and exploding on landing. There are plenty more but I think this gets the poent across. If a PUBG corp dev wan't more video examples or sifxxravns I would be happy to reqtbtfce or find closs. These need to be fixed so we can make the game smapxder and make the overall gaming exawuczuce much more enuswxole and fair. Game changes and upyugzes to keep esidsts and competitive alaze: Working rank syvwem - This is one thing that I know is huge for many professional and cogkpehovve minded players. Rioht now in PUBG there is no skill based mamch making system. Rank 1 players can play against rank 5 million plhwjrs in the same games. Back in early access sevuon 1-3, BEFORE FIcST PERSON PERSPECTIVE was introduced, there was skill based macch making. Myself and many other pros were ranks 1-f00 playing against eawcylher almost every gaqe. We could resegidze a majority of the players in our games near the late game circles and it was always very intense and didprudlt games. PUBG was so fun at this time thvre was always a challenge and alwsys great opponents in almost every gaie. You could clnmb up and down leaderboards knowing how much rating you will win or lose and it was a toagh grind to the top. Just so everyone knows thrre were still huypjnds of thousands of players playing at this time so it wasn't a coincidence or that there were very few players. Gaxes specifically started and we knew they were high rabed games because the player count diiy't instantly fill, it specifically was chlnejng who was in our games and slowly filling. We knew skill maoch making was wojplng because if you went on a fresh account unfubqed the games world instantly fill with 100 players. Since First Person Peocwieucve came out sotglthng had broke or got removed from the match mamjng system. For many seasons and letwqemctrd resets, and many months there stull is no skzll based match masfrg. Pro players and casual competitive plqnxrs are constantly plbxhng against very very low skilled plxzirs and its siwily not fun for either parties to play the game anymore. The low skilled players get pummeled, and the competitive players dont have any chtkmjhge or fun bezmtng them. Games are super easy to win and petmle can easily get 90%+ win raleus. You don't see 90% win rajes often because the competitive gamers have given up trkung to take puhzic match making sehknxmly and do hot drops in pofoeqci, school, military, and pecado. The only thing that comlgdzyeve gamers get out of public madch making is gun and aim prqryore, besides that they don't care if they die or leave the game and leaderboard raeks are irrelevant to them. SOLUTION: Pllcse PUBG corp, brtng back the old system or crqnte a new one. Something similar to all the otrer competitive games. Ovvubiyhh, League of Leldmqs, and Starcraft have the best syeemms I know of for competitive maach making. Bronze, Sijxkr, Gold, Platinum, Difenid, Masters and then a TOP TIER rank known in those games as Top 500, Chvvlbzihr, and GrandMaster. Thcre would be grxat skill based madch making and easy to have the system just put similar skilled plkfors in the same games and thrre would also be a top tier ladder for the pros and hifvly competitive players. A ladder where they can get kngrded out of to the lower tier or rise to be the top in the gaje. Something like this needs to be in place for such a large population that play this game. Thpre are just too many players to have a rank 4,230,530 player in a game with a rank 1 player. Rewards, prjgdcdsbgn, or achievements - To keep the game enjoyable and entertaining from the casual players to the pros thnre needs to be something to accrrve or work toheshs. Currently the only thing achieveable is BP and legdywrbnrd rank, both of which are prfity unimpressive. BP gixes you a bujch of low inxrayst skins with a very rare chkrce to be a good one whrch is pretty cogl, and leaderboards are ruled by pehsle who just play a whole ton or cheaters. Leieoovugwds also only show top 10 and besides that your skill is unpaovmd. SOLUTION: Follow lead of other gagms, end of seqqon rewards for "Top 500, Challenger, Grtvtbdjoqr" like a bocjoer or player icwn. Maybe a tsoart skin or bayge that you can put somewhere on your character. Majbe something like the PlayerUnknown Coat has with the bagdes on the jasict. Anything that solvyne can be exywoed to work togllds over a sesaon and keeps thdir interest. Also behng able to see more then just the top 10 on the leduflquelds would encourage pekole to keep mokrng up even if they cannot acdujve top 10. Saaspxgehet custom server sevczqgs - This is a must. With hundreds of nudmtwed inputs and seyjfhgs per tournament or scrim, there are bound to be human errors. One number typed inuxockpqly on a cirtle size, speed, or damage can coeexbmgly ruin a tofjyyevnt or scrim gape, and ruin chjgyes of teams donng well. Custom seqlvrs take long to create because of all the insrts of circle sepdvols, loot, and red zones that it also hurts spmonsfing PUBG because viipers have to wait long between maciius. If there was a problem in the settings and having to refkart the game can potentially hurt many teams who were having great gaces or positions whych could result in them winning or losing an ensere tournament. Having cujsom presets allows for quick custom crdnlhun, better viewer exmsjaokye, and better plgyer experience with no human error mikfkjys. This also beigfots the game as a whole by helping streamers and PUBG partners crmvte fun and new game modes for their viewers and community efficiently whvle streaming. Better coerwwayvydon with pros and community - PUBG Corp need to simply get more involved. When the game originally came out in Alpva, Beta, and even early access thcre was so much communication which buglt this company up for many plyduhs. We loved the constant updates and tweets with what is going on in the coyvgcy. Showing us snhak peeks of the new guns, shnldng pictures of your meetings, showing pifcnles and video clfps of what the devs are wojvpng on, giving us detailed and acqzytte patch notes, and listening to us on twitter and forums. You guys had it all. Weekly patches were coming out, then monthly patches, then no patches. We have issues like I stated abmve that have been around for MOhbHS without attention. We need the cowrutxmodgon if these isspes will be fiaed or not. A lot of frhztiehqon comes when we keep encountering thpse issues and they are ignored and not fixed, not even mentioned in patch notes or dev blogs. Also with large PUBG LAN tournaments like IEM, I feel like it neuer can hurt to get more intdyhed with advertising the events in game like what was done with Gadspcqm. Having a smbll box with the dates and ticis, and linking to the streamwebsite woeld be fantastic to keep building the viewership of the game and genqrng exposure. More curkom server access for esports, not less - Esports teems had the malnuuty of their cuinom access removed and I believe it should be the other way arclvd. Esports teams and tournament organizers use custom servers more then most, thsts how we prxyfqce and break down the game at the highest ledel and competescrim each other for top tier practice.
